The fee for this course has been substantially reduced from previous years as DBV is subsiding 50% of the cost. As part of DBV's strategic plan, we want to help grow the the sport within Victoria and investing in our amazing volunteers will aid in building bigger and better regattas.

Level 1 Course Saturday 9am-5pm

Upon completion of course, participants will be provided with a certificate, Officials ID card, Officials logbook.

Presenter: Melanie Cantwell (grade 4 International Official)

Payment: Can be via credit card or direct deposit. DBV account details will be provided after registration. Please note your course registration status will not be confirmed till payment has been received by DBV

Course covers 4 modules:

Module 1: ethical responsibilities, analysing own performance, identifying the roles and needs of officials.

Module 2: managing the environment - legal responsibilities, duty of care, managing and minimising risk, safety standards and procedures

Module 3: people management, communication, dealing with situations which may arise (weather and people)

Module 4: Officials roles - what are they? what do I need to do?

You will also be provided with an understanding the Competition Rules and Regulations. There will also be a written exam.

Level 2 Course - Saturday 1.30pm - 4.30pm

This workshop is for Grade 1 and Grade 2 Officials who wish to progress and move along their Development pathway.

The workshop will run for approximately 3 hours.

Workshop will include an indepth discussion of all Officials roles and responsibilities, dealing with conflict, risk etc

There will be time at the end of the workshop for interested Officials to sit their upgrade exams.
