Course Overview
The Provide First Aid course provides participants with the essential skills and knowledge
required to manage life threatening emergencies until professional medical help arrives.
This program educates participants in how to deal with medical emergencies arising from
shock, bleeding, burns, fractures, soft tissue injuries, cardiac and respiratory emergencies,
exposure, and poisoning. Included in the program is training on Cardio Pulmonary
Resuscitation (CPR).
This course is ideal for anyone involved in child supervision including parents, grandparents and teachers. Also known as Senior First Aid or Workplace Level 2.
Units of competence gained from this course are:
HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation – the first 3 hours of the course
cover this area
HLTAID002 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
HLTAID003 Provide First Aid
The Apply First Aid qualification is valid for 3 years. Please note that in order to keep this qualification current for the 3 year term, you mus thave a validated CPR qualification at all times. The CPR component of the Apply First Aid requires an annual update to remain current.
