The fee for this course has been subsidised by DBV as part of DBV's ongoing strategic plan to develop officials and volunteers. DBV wants to help grow the the sport within Victoria and investing in our amazing volunteers will aid in building bigger and better regattas.

Level 1 Course Sunday 9.30am-4.30pm
Upon completion of course, participants will be provided with a certificate, Officials ID card, Officials logbook.
Presenter: Melanie Cantwell (grade 4 International Official)
Payment: Can be via credit card or direct deposit. DBV account details will be provided after registration. Please note your course registration status will not be confirmed till payment has been received by DBV.
Course covers 4 modules:
Module 1: ethical responsibilities, analysing own performance, identifying the roles and needs of officials.
Module 2: managing the environment - legal responsibilities, duty of care, managing and minimising risk, safety standards and procedures
Module 3: people management, communication, dealing with situations which may arise (weather and people)
Module 4: Officials roles - what are they? what do I need to do?
You will also be provided with an understanding the Competition Rules and Regulations. There will also be a written exam.
Level 2 & 3 Course - Sunday 1.30pm - 4.30pm
This workshop is for Grade 1 and Grade 2 Officials who wish to progress and move along their Development pathway.
The workshop will run for approximately 3 hours.
Workshop will include an in depth discussion of all Officials roles and responsibilities, dealing with conflict, risk etc
There will be time at the end of the workshop for interested Officials to sit their upgrade exams.
Getting to MSAC
MSAC has two tram lines that stop in close proximity to the venue, the 96 and 12 trams.
- Route 96 (East Brunswick to St Kilda Beach) – Stop 129
- Route 12 (City to South Melbourne/St Kilda) – Stop 131
Onsite parking is available also available for a day rate of $10.40
- Entry to the Aquatics Multi-Deck Car Park is via Albert Road/Cecil Street.
- Entry to the Stadiums Car Park is via Aughtie Drive (Recommended for Boardroom)
Free off street parking is available in the area with 2-4hrs parking restrictions.
