Victorian Championships 2022
Sat 19 Mar 2022 09:00 — 17:00

Event information

This event has passed.

Provisional Schedule:

Sat 19 March from 9am - 5:00pm

Please find below version 1 of the race draw.

This draw outlines the order for Premier and Senior categories and for 10's and 20's races. The order means that when entering crews, care should be taken to ensure separate crews are entered into 10's and 20's races.

For the Seniors there will not be separate races for the three age groups.

Clubs are requested to nominate whether their crew is to be considered as Senior A, B or C by entering the category in Revsport. The handicap system will apply for results.

Although nine categories are listed for 2km races, there will not be 9 races. Once we know the entries, we will finalise the race categories.

You must view the race order and categories here so that you don't enter consecutive races.

By-laws summary

Please also note the following important information from the DBV by-laws when entering events and crew lists.

  • Out of age rules apply, i.e. two out of age paddlers for a standard crew and one out of age paddler for a small crew
  • Juniors – up to eight in a standard crew and up to four in a small crew
  • Minimum number of paddlers in a standard crew – 16
  • Minimum number of males in a mixed crew is one. Maximum number if 50% of total paddlers in crew
  • Preference is for female sweeps and drummers in women’s boats
  • Do not enter two small crews in the one category.  You must enter a 20s crew.  Crews must be totally independent of each other.
  • Combined teams involving paddlers from a number of small, regionally based clubs and within a specific age group or category, may be considered for entry in races.  Permission to enter needs to be sought from DBV.  One club is to be responsible for the coordination of an entry.

If any of the above conditions will impact on your capacity to participate in Vic Champs, please email DBV headed ‘Exemption Request’ to administration@dragonboatvictoria.com.au. Your request will be forwarded to the two DBV nominated national Officials. All exemptions will be considered in the light of enhancing participation so long as it is fair for all clubs.
