Located in the heart of The Docklands, with a backdrop of Etihad Stadium training along the iconic Yarra, you’ll find one of Melbourne’s longest established Dragon Boat Clubs, Melbourne Flames.

Coached by Serghei Cucsa, a former scientific advisor of the Soviet Union Canoeing Team and the current Head Coach of the Australian Dragon Boat Team, we are a truly International Club with our members ranging in age from twelve to over seventy.

The evolution of Melbourne Flames has resulted in Gold medal success at State, National and International levels. Regardless of age, gender, or fitness levels we embrace the philosophy all are welcome. The Club provides an opportunity to paddle competitively, socially, or for newcomers to “come along and try”. Our paddling season is scheduled with regular social gatherings, Regional trips including the Mile High Regatta held annually at Falls Creek and local Regattas’ on Victoria Harbour and the Yarra.
